Averett

Well here it is, Averett University, five hours away from Clemson. Just across the North Carolina and Virginia border. I made this voyage Sunday morning with the Clemson club football team, we were scheduled to play at 2:00 against Averett's red shirt team. And, as you can see, it was a gorgeous day. There was blue sky and a nice cool breeze, perfect for playing some football. This shot was taken of the University's visiting locker rooms and basket ball courts. I tried to capture the first significant sight that I saw driving in. It was 12:10, so i guess I cheated. I just assumed that this would be a little more interesting than the cow pastures I was driving through at twelve. So, in conclusion, this is where I was at around 12:00 on Sunday. Also just in case you were wondering, we lost in the very end of the fourth quarter by four points, 26 to 30.

P.S.- Next game is at 2:00 Sunday vs. University of North Carolina on the varsity practice fields, which are located by the baseball field.

progress

Well, my mom changed the focus of her company from wine and cigars to high end pet products. So, I have to change my focus and come up with a new theme for the web page. It will still have the same color scheme with a calm and soothing feel to it, but I will have to adjust it a little to focus on that market base.

movies

These are just a few graphics of my favorite movies, and in every one you can get a sense of the movie's personalities. You can tell just by looking at these that they are funny ,or serious, bazaar, or exciting. You can even tell what time period these movies depict and what region of the world they are supposed to take place in. Just one look at these graphics can describe every emotion that the movie could invoke, like it is preparing you for the experience. In fact, I would go so far as to say, that I could predict what all will happen in some scenes of the movie just by looking at these photos. But I digress, the purpose of creating these images is to describe to a certain market what experiences that they could have the opportunity of having. And, true to form, they effectively accomplish this by showing simple and easily understood images.

Progress

My progress as of today is minuscule. so far, I have been keeping in close contact with my mom and I am trying to get her to paint me a picture for the home page. Also, I am still trying to learn how to use the Adobe programs so I can effectively reach my goals for this project. But, until I am comfortable with it, I will resort to drawing different sketches until I find a suitable design for my home page.

THE DEATH PENALTY

The death penalty has been argued over for ages, yet it has always been accepted as necessity not as just a need for vengeance but also to keep as a threat to those who are tempted by crimes that would require condemnation. But regardless of your opinion, the Idea of death row always strikes a nerve. The Idea of a person committing murder makes them seem inhuman, but after they have been charged and they are sitting on death row waiting for justice we see the human side of them, the emotion, pain, and anguish of the torturous pressure of knowing retribution is coming.
Dianna George addresses the way these situations are portrayed and used in popular culture. These situations are used as a tool to catch a reader's attention and to display a wide variety of ideas that generally circulate around execution. Many ideals are related to racism, politics, and justice, but regardless of the reason they are condemned, the sole purpose of all executions is fear. And I think this is the main emotion that all media plays off of. It makes you think, Is a persons life worth retaliation, or justice, or prevention? Sometimes, I think that for the purpose of justice or prevention that the death penalty is a necessary evil. It is an ugly solution to an even uglier problem.
